Automate the repeatable tasks in your business

Some links in this post are affiliate links. If you sign up through one we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We only recommend tools we would use ourselves.

While repetition may be the mother of learning (like Zig Ziglar once said), this hardly applies to annoying, time consuming, repetitive tasks you may be doing for your work on a regular basis.

Some examples of such tasks include:

  • Manually adding people who book an appointment with you on Calendly to your Google Contacts.

  • Manually creating Trello cards for each new Google Forms submission.

  • Manually sending an email to your team every Monday morning reminding them to submit their project status reports.

  • Manually adding new people who send you an email to your MailChimp list.

All of these, and a whole lot more, can be easily automated using the best web automation tool in the business - Zapier!

Zapier helps you by connecting the web apps you use the most, and defining how they should interact through Triggers and Actions.

  • A Trigger is the requirement that must be met, or the activity that must happen in order for the automation to initiate.

  • An Action is the activity that should follow after the trigger requirement has been met.

Zapier isn't the only option. Make (affiliate link) covers much of the same ground and tends to work out cheaper at higher volumes, with a visual builder some people find easier to follow. IFTTT is simpler and better suited to personal automations than to business processes, and Power Automate is worth a look if you're already paying for Microsoft 365.

Setting up your first automations is the hard part - after that they mostly look after themselves. If you'd rather not work through it alone, get in touch and we'll help you map out which tasks are worth automating and build the first few with you.
